The Juggling Act

Many tasks in life are not all that difficult if you were to tackle them one at a time, but life generally doesn’t work that way. Often, you are juggling many tasks at the same time, which can prove to be challenging.

When you plan out what tasks you are going to take on, keep all the other commitments you have in mind. You may be able to juggle a lot for a short amount of time, but eventually, too much is simply too much.

You don’t want your entire life falling down around you.

Choose how much you juggle knowing that it’s highly likely that a few more tasks will be thrown into the routine. If you’re already pushed to the limit with your current amount, a fall is inevitable.

Know that saying yes to certain opportunities is also saying no to others.

Also, having too much going on at once leads to burnout, and a burnt-out minister of the gospel is not an effective one. Even the most ambitious believers must pass up opportunities at times, so their daily worship isn’t inhibited. But remember this: the greatest opportunity and task is to worship the Lord with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind.

  1. Indeed great advice here Terry!

Not actually setting priorities will consequently lead to literally a case of “having too much on your plate” or “biting off more than you can chew,” as the old idioms go!

    Yup, “been there done that!”

  2. Thank you! I want to ask you for prayer for this collection of writings. I just sent my first query letter in hopes of finding a literary agent who will help me publish all of these 100 writings in a collection titled Modern Proverbs, which aims at equipping and encouraging young men.
